Trainee Professional Hayden Webb won his second trainee event for the year on Monday. Playing at Kilmore GC in the Trainee Pro-Am Hayden shot a 1 under par 69 which was enough to hold on for victory by 1 shot around the narrow country course. Holing a number of par saving putts at important times kept the round going on the small greens of the Kilmore golf course. Hayden finished with a steady round that included 3 birdies and 2 bogeys; had it not been for preferred lies on the fairways he would have set the course record which stands at even par after changes were made to the course in 2014. Hayden is now in the 3rd and final year of his traineeship at Settlers Run GCC and sits in 8th place in the state-wide order of merit and inside the top 30 in the national rankings amongst trainees. The win comes after some good form for Hayden in recent times at both club and trainee level. Hayden will continue to play events throughout the year including WA state championships in August and National Championships in October before he looks to gain his Australasian tour card for the 2018 season at the completion of his traineeship.
